We offer a college preparatory program that serves children in grades 1 through 12. Our goal is to transition students back to more traditional settings, if appropriate. If traditional school is not the best environment for a student, we ensure that their Guilford Day experience will provide the rigor, strategies, and self-advocacy skills necessary for successful transitioning to college, vocational-technical school, or the world of work.
The mission of Guilford Day School is to enable students with specific learning disabilities and/or attention deficit disorders with average to above average intellect to reach their highest potential by establishing and maintaining a safe, supportive, and positive educational setting that creates opportunities for success, challenges expectations, and builds a strong foundation of skills and knowledge that leads to successful transitions
Guilford Day School is licensed by the State of North Carolina Department of Non-public Education and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. As such, we follow North Carolina's Standard Course of Study and are committed to a process of continual self-evaluation, reflection, and renewal.
Our direct instruction approach, attention to individual needs, and a strong emphasis on the enhancement of self-esteem allows students to build the confidence they need to maximize their potential.
