Focus:
At the Butterfly Pavilion, we've got more adventures than you can imagine. As the nation's first stand-alone insect zoo, the Butterfly Pavilion is the ideal place to see and interact with exotic live invertebrates from around the globe. It's where science, fun and education come together.

Major Exhibits:
Wings over the Tropics: Explore our lush tropical conservatory, home to more than 1,200 live butterflies from around the world.
Crawl-A-See-Em: Get eye-to-eye with tarantulas, leaf insects, scorpions, beetles, giant millipedes and many more! You can even hold Rosie, our Chilean Rose Hair tarantula. The Water's Edge: You've heard of a petting zoo - try our petting tank! Touch live sea stars, sea cucumbers and other aquatic invertebrates.
Shrunk!: Experience our eye-popping new exhibit with giant animatronic insects that actually move.
Exhibits of 06: Project Insect: A traveling art and science exhibition brought to you by James and Jessa Huebing-Reitinger that educates about the science of entomology and conservation through the medium of performing visual arts
Class Trip Pricing:
The student group rate is $3.50 per student and one free adult with every 5 paid students. Additional adults are $7.95. Adults assisting students with disabilities are free. |

Our field trips and classes are based on Colorado State Content Standards (K-12), and we can adapt them to cover any invertebrate topic you may be studying in your classroom. For example, topics may include Buggy Basics/ Arthropod Overview, Insects Inquiry, Life Cycles, Habitats and Food Webs, Ecosystems and Ecology, Simple Classification and Careers. Groups may also schedule a group self-guided visit between 9:00am and 3:30 pm.
