School Information

Excelsior Academy is a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and a National School of Character located in San Diego that has been devoted to helping each student meet and surpass his/her individual potential since 1988.

Excelsior specialists have been very successful at creating a learning environment where children achieve personal, physical, and intellectual growth.

We provide an individualized program, tailored to meet the needs of each student.%A0 Our talented staff members assess, identify, implement, and evaluate a learning approach that best affords each student opportunities for success. It is common for students to make more than one year's growth in academic areas with which they have struggled in other settings.

Our core curriculum is enhanced with offerings in the areas of fine arts, athletics, service learning, technology, compensatory learning skills, social skills development, and specific writing classes. Teaching methods are supplemented with curricular modifications and learning accommodations as needed.

We help students develop a sense of belonging, which may be their first experience at a nurturing learning environment.%A0 Our committed staff members develop rapport, create a sense of community, and offer a safe environment in which students can reach greater heights.
