Spanish is spoken natively by approximately 350 million people in the world today. Another 100 million or so speak Spanish as a second language. The ability to speak Spanish obviously allows you to communicate with a great many people, but the advantages do not end there. Spanish is spoken natively by approximately 25 million people in the U.S. , making it the fifth largest Spanish-speaking country in the world today. Spanish is expected to be the first language of 50% of the U.S. population in 50 years. Studying Spanish gives you a cultural appreciation of literary works, arts, architecture, music, and cinema. |
ILASO is a Costa Rican organization focuses on quality international education. ILASO administers programs that allow high school and university students and educators to study, volunteer, work and teach abroad. All our language programs are designed in order to fulfil needs and university requirements for adventurous students who like different cultures and people. ILASO is not another study abroad program, we are the only program that has social commitment with community and encourage students to do volunteer work as part of their experience of living abroad. This is a good opportunity to improve the language and live the real Costa Rica . Monteverde Cloud Forest, Manuel Antonio National Park (beach), Arenal Volcano and hot springs, Puerto Viejo in the Caribbean coast and Santa Cruz- Guanacaste and indigenous communities. (All excursions include 2 nights hotel, meals, transportation, cultural activities, and visit to interesting places)

$1250 this program is an intensive Spanish course designed for people related to Health (Doctors, nurses, paramedics, etc) or people who intend to work in the medical sector and need Spanish in their workplace. The course is held at Universidad Latina of Costa Rica, the most prestigious private university in the country. The course is 2 weeks long and it focuses on the improvement of the language skills with a special emphasis on health and real situations based in clinics or hospitals. The program includes 1 visit per week to health centers such as; hospitals, private clinics and community health centers. Students will learn about the facilities and technology used in the country and will have the possibility to talk to and interview doctors, nurses and people who work in the hospital |

This summer Program combines the experience of acquiring a foreign language with cultural activities during the weekends. Students are able to take two classes and cover 90 contact hours of learning at the universidad Latina of Costa Rica and the Interamerican University .
