Focus: Mission: To Honor our heroes, educate the public and inspire our youth. The Intrepid will be "on leave" from October 2006 until the fall of 2008 for some restoration and refurbishment, both to our pier and to the ship itself. During that time the museum will be closed to the public. While the Intrepid is on leave its mission and programming will continue

Class Trip Programs:
Video conferencing is an excellent way to bring our museum into your classroom by connecting over the internet. In our Techno Trips, students participate in fun and interactive games that allow them learn at the same time. Our Techno Trips allow students to ask Museum Educators questions and receive immediate feed back about many of the objects in the Intrepid Museum's collection. If you plan on visiting the Intrepid, Techno Trips are a great way to introduce your students to the museum

We support all the current VC standards including H.320 and H.323. We use IP and are ISDN compatible. We usually connect at 384K but we can accommodate different speeds. A test connection must be scheduled at least three days before the video conference

Our Techno Trips are designed for single connections with a limit of 35 students per connection
