Setting

From its dazzling beaches to its ancient castles, Spain is a country as diverse as the cultures which have influenced its art, architecture, music and lifestyle. It is a land where cathedrals and castles are interspersed with skyscrapers, where modern rock mixes with flamenco guitar, and night clubs compete with cozy "tapas" bars. Spain offers some of the world's most famous museums, resorts, and festivals, making it a unique and enchanting destination.

The famed capital of Spain is a cosmopolitan city of unequaled culture and nightlife. With everything from world famous museums to high fashion shopping, one never runs out of things to do in Madrid. Conveniently located at a maximum of 5 hours by train or bus to any other city in Spain, its central location makes it an ideal home base for language travelers.

School Information

Madrid Residential Summer Camp is offered on the campus of a prestigious private boarding school located 20 minutes from the city center at the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. The campus is divided by age group. The facilities include classrooms, cafeteria, video/TV room and sport facilities. Accommodations offered are dormitory bedrooms with shower and washstand located in each room. About 60% of the student are Spanish (English and Spanish are taught at the campuses), other participants are from: USA, Canada, England, Italy, Germany, Russia, Ireland, Japan, Brazil, France, Poland and the Ukraine. Capacity is 110-280 residential students.

Supervision: There will be a camp counselor available for every group of 10 to 12 students. The counselor will remain with the group on a twenty-four hour a day basis and will take care of any individual needs each participant may have. Each counselor will coordinate the sports and activities for the group to participate in. The counselor will always accompany their assigned group on the excursions organized by the camp off of campus grounds. An entire team of camp employees consisting of group coordinators, head counselors and their staff, and teachers will oversee the day-to-day care, activity and learning for each participant. The Director and Head Coordinator of the summer camp are present daily and supervise the camp staff to ensure a safe and active learning environment for all camp participants.

Participants will room in a dormitory located on the camp premise. Dormitory rooms are assigned according to age and sex and will have 6-12 students per room.
