Monroe County Heritage Museums preserve and interprets Monroe County History.

Major Exhibits:
Monroe County Heritage Museums encompasses three museums. The Old Courthouse Museum has 3 permanent exhibits: Harper Lee, Truman Capote, & the 1903 Monroe County Courthouse. Rikard's Mill Historical Park displays Pioneer History at an 1845 working, water-powered gristmill. The Alabama River Museum has exhibits on Natural History and fossils, Native American artifacts, and the Steamboat era.
Class Trip Programs: Pioneer Days are held in November at Rikard's Mill. The Alabama River Festival is held in March at the Alabama River Museum. The Young Audience performances of "To Kill A Mockingbird" in April are held in Monroeville at the Old Courthouse Museum.

Pioneer Days - $2.00 Alabama River Festival - $3.00 students Young Audience - $8.00 students Adults and chaperons are free to all events.
