History:

Frontier Girls was founded on January 19, 2007 as an alternative to Girl Scouts to provide a scout-like program for girls that combines traditional scouting with a love of learning. Our mission is to raise women of honor to be the mothers and leaders of the future through life skills, leadership, character building, teamwork and service to others.

Frontier Girls celebrates the American spirit that makes us great. Our country was built upon a strong faith in God, strong family values, and the acceptance of those who are different than ourselves. We are a people of loyalty, of faith, of innovation. We pride ourselves on our resourcefulness and our freedoms. These are the traits our country was built on, but they are slowly being eroded away in a culture of instant gratification and irresponsibility. The Frontier Girl program seeks to restore a focus on good moral character, patriotism, community service, and a love of learning that is being lost.

The name Frontier Girls was chosen because one of the definitions of the word “frontier” is “an undeveloped area or field for discovery or research.” The American spirit thrives upon the constant desire to discover new things, to ask more questions, and find more answers. Our badges are divided into Areas of Discovery because we want girls to find something new in everything they study and to never want to stop learning.

Our scout like youth program curriculum for girls uses badges for its foundation with a variety of higher awards available as well. We believe that girls can do anything they set their minds to and should have the opportunity to explore any subject that flagsinterests them. For this reason we have made a commitment to writing a badge on virtually any subject a girl wishes to learn about with the exception of controversial topics we feel are better addressed by parents or religious leaders. We currently offer more than 1200 individual badges and are adding more every day.

Included in our badge selection are character badges that address everything from joy and honesty to responsibility and modesty. These badges encourage girls to put these traits to use in their own lives, helping them to be good, well-mannered, self directed, respectful, disciplined, and honorable citizens.

Frontier Girls is still a fairly new program and we are constantly making improvements. If you have any questions or comments regarding our program we would love to hear from you.

Program Highlights:

Discover the Outdoors
Discover Science and Technology

If you see a need, take the lead!

Frontier Girls is a scout like curriculum with more than 1,200 individual badges to earn plus a variety of higher awards offered as an alternative to Girl Scouts for groups to use as part of their youth programming. There was once a time when the educational theory for girls was based on the fact that a woman's place was in the home; her education and abilities were carefully centered around present and future homemaking activities. Then the pendulum swung the other direction as women battled for equal rights within the work place. Simply being a homemaker was suddenly considered a lowly position. Frontier Girls recognizes not only the ability of women to excel in the career of their choice, but more importantly the continued need for strong and loving mothers in the home. Our mission shows our belief that you can do anything you set your mind to. From the President of the United States to a mother of ten, your future is up to you. Regardless of what you choose, there are certain skills and character traits that will always hold you in good stead and these are what we are hoping to teach you.

Our youth program for girls promotes community service, patriotism, teamwork and leadership skills. With nine Areas of Discovery, we offer over 1,200 individual badges on just about every topic a girl could wish to learn about. We also have an entire area of badges dedicated to learning character traits such as honesty, responsibility, and kindness. For those who are looking for outdoor adventure we have another area of badges that specifically targets the outdoors. Whether you want to go camping, kayaking, rock climbing, or just take a simple hike through the woods, we have what you are looking for.
