Create Mobile Android Apps with App Inventor: Apps are a great way to get into the exciting world of coding, be creative, and solve a problem in your own life. In this course you will design and develop Android apps using MIT App Inventor.

Cool Maker Projects with Arduinos: In this fun class, you will understand Arduino microcontroller programming by inventing an adjustable strobe and two digital musical instruments you can play! Along the way, you'll learn a lot about electronics, coding, science, and engineering.

Make Your Own Computer with Raspberry Pi: Join us as we build a computer using a Raspberry Pi and existing computer parts.

Math Cubed: This course is for students new to solving the 3x3 Rubik's Cube. In this fun, hands-on class, students will learn the algorithms for solving, study the geometric properties of the Cube, and create a large mosaic with multiple Rubik's Cubes.

ADVANCED Math Cubed: Beyond the Rubik's Cube: This course is for students who know how to solve a 3x3 Rubik's Cube. Students will further explore the mathematical principles associated with the Rubik's Cube and plan/create their own mosaics with multiple Rubik's Cubes. We will also take on a new challenge of learning to solve the 2x2 Rubik's Cube. This class can be taken in Week 2 if you took the first Math Cubed class in Week 1 of camp, or is open to students who already know how to solve a 3x3 Rubik's Cube.

A New Twist on Games: Students will engage in lessons including the history of games and puzzles, how animals learn through play, architecture and design, engineering and construction, technology and communication, memory and learning, and physical science- all with a Rubik's Cube twist!

Graphic Novel Creation: Love manga? Comic books? Graphic Novels? Would you like to create your own original characters and produce your own work? Using Intuos Drawing Pads, Microsoft Fresh Paint, and Summitsoft's Comic Creator, we will create a completely unique graphic novel. No artistic skill necessary!

Stop-Motion Animation and Set Design, a Two-Part Class: Join Bolles Middle School Librarian, Jaime Sanborn, in using Lego blocks, modeling clay, action figures, and anything else we can think of to create an original stop-motion movie! Storyboarding, sculpting, building, and camera-work with the Hue Animation Studio are all a part of this experience. The first part of this class will be storyboarding and set-design and the second part will be directing and movie making. No prior knowledge necessary- just bring some really cool ideas!

Muscle Mania!: In this hands-on class, students will model all the major muscle groups of the human body using clay to form and attach each muscle to a ¼ scale model of the human body. Students will also learn the types of muscles and the basics of how muscles work. This kinesthetic activity will reinforce students' understanding of what they are learning. By the end of the week, each group's model will be contain the major muscles of the body.

On Your Mark! Get Set! Go! The Heart and Exercise: In this Exercise Science and technology-centered class, students will learn how the heart works and measure the effects of exercise on the heart. Students will perform experiments that measure heart rate, blood pressure, and even collect and analyze an EKG of the human heartbeat. Students will also learn the details of data collection and data analysis used in scientific research.
