Island Expeditions has specialized in High School Educational trips in Belize for 24 years, Our adventure based programs are led by highly experienced and qualified staff with group sizes of 10-30 students.

Curriculum Highlights: Tropical marine basecamps on remote Caribbean Atolls, rainforest ecology, contemporary and ancient Mayan culture and Archaeology. Snorkeling, Scuba, sea kayaking, river travel and caving.

School Setting: Tropical atolls beaches and, barrier reef, rainforests and Mayan villages

Program Information: Marine and rainforest ecology, sea kayaking, river and rainforest travel and instruction. . Dynamic and life changing cultural interaction with indigenous peoples of Central America. All activities, porfessional guides, accommodations and meals included. International flights can be arranged through our office or independently

From day trips to nearby parks to a sixteen-day tour of France and Switzerland, my experiences have been memorable and informing. Students have an opportunity to experience a diverse range of environments and cultures within the small Caribbean nation of Belize.  Remarkably blessed in biogeography the tiny country boasts the most pristine coral reefs in the entire Caribbean, the 2nd longest barrier reef in the world and  unspoiled rainforests rich with wildlife.

Culturally Belize is one of a kind - it has a mosaic of  exotic cultures from Kekchi Maya to Creol and Gafifuna peoples- yet it's first language is english, ,governement, schools,transportation and businesses all operate in the english language.  This enables the traveller to experience the tremendous diversity of cultures found in Belize with the barrier of language that all too often limits genuine culutral interaction.
