Susan,
I appreciate your time on Friday and I agree with you that it was a good experience for me to understand the process for our families. I feel like you really make a connection with our kids and I appreciate your firm, but encouraging style. I don't think parents are always on the same page with their parenting style and they want their children to be coddled. Children need clear guidelines and firm re-direction to accomplish goals and live in this society. I know that ____ will thrive under your therapy style. Thanks again and I will see you soon.
Laurie Campbell, Director 1st Pres Preschool Atlanta, GA
Hello Susan, I just wanted to drop you a line to report on the progress of a former 'patient'. You evaluated (my son) in the fall of 2006, then he saw (one of your OT's) for about 7 months regarding handwriting and other issues. At the time we were home schooling and were in our fourth year. (my son) is now in 8th grade and is attending a local private school. He is doing so well there! He has been one of a small percentage of students making the honor roll both 9 weeks. He is just a different child. I attribute that to lots of different things, but you and (your OT) are at the top of my list. His handwriting becoming a non-issue has meant the world to him. His school allows him to use his Alpha Smart or pc for long papers and other writing doesn't seem to be an issue for him anymore.
Thank you so much for all you do and for the difference you have made in so many young lives"
Sincerely, CB--Hartwell, GA
"Susan, I just wanted to tell you that I will be eternally grateful we found you and Children's Special Services. You all have been a godsend. When I brought my daughter to you, I had no idea how to help her. Everyone was more than willing to tell us something was not quite right, but no one had any definite ideas about what to do for her. Much to our dismay, with the exception of our pediatrician, everyone else we were working with suggested that we medicate her.
A psychologist gave us your phone number, said you helped "children focus" and told us that was all he knew about your company. I remember calling your office and thinking I've got nothing to lose--maybe this group can help her.
I will never forget the we met you for her assessment. You were about two sentences into your assessment conclusions when I realized that you understood exactly what was going on and that you knew exactly how to help her. And that was the beginning of a journey that has changed my daughter's life as well as mine and my husbands. Your therapist has done a phenomenal job with her.
AV is now a confident, happy and vibrant child and nothing like the 4-year old that I brought to your office in November of 2005. You all helped her master the skills that will be with her throughout her academic journey and ultimately her life. To see her succeed in school and to hear her tell us that she loves school is such a wonderful thing! She has been telling me that she loves coming to the clinic.
I tell so many people about you and what you do for the children you work with, and it seems like it all falls on deaf ears. I am just grateful that we found you. You all have been so wonderful. As I said before, I will be eternally grateful for what you have helped my daughter accomplish. We will miss you terribly and wish nothing but the best for all of you."
Sincerely, MV--Atlanta GA
