Focus: Local and global Christmas customs and celebrations; Pennsylvania Christmas history; how the United States celebrated the holiday during different eras; origins of Christmas traditions and lore; the evolution of Santa Claus - from St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, Turkey in 300 AD, to the jolly figure we recognize today; the influence of the media and how that changed Christmas celebrations; antiques and collectibles ranging from Nativities to dinnerware, antique toys and ornaments; postcards, advertisements and other ephemera

Nestled in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, the National Christmas Center is dedicated to preserving and sharing precious mementos - and memories - of Christmases past and present, near and far. Fourteen main galleries and numerous, ever-changing smaller exhibits bring the holiday to life for guests of all ages.

Explore 20,000 square feet of life-sized, indoor walk-through exhibits featuring realistic life-cast figures and one of a kind animated sculpted characters.
