November 17, 18 & 19, 2006 Native American Culture Festival
The Chehaw Native American Cultural Festival is coming to Albany, Georgia the 3rd weekend in November 2006. Come and watch our Native American dancers as they perform traditional, fancy, jingle, shawl, hoop and many other dances. There will be demonstrators and vendors from all over the United States educating, entertaining, and selling their arts and crafts for the public for all three days. So come and join us in our venture into Native American life.
Call for pricing on Indian Festival, Frontier Festival prices are regular park entry fees.

The Parks at Chehaw is an 800-acre urban oasis where you can find excitement or serenity amidst towering mossy oaks, swamps and pine forest. 180 acres comprise Chehaw Wild Animal Park, one of two AZA (American Zoo and Aquarium Association) accredited zoos in Georgia. The zoo is home to over 170 animals from Africa and North America including alligators, endangered red wolves to three species of endangered Lemurs, Ben's Barnyard (Children's Farm) and our newest exhibit Black Rhino's. The seasonal Wiregrass Express train ride, Predator n' Prey Café and educational amphitheater offer visitors the amenities of a big city zoo within the swampy serenity of the Georgia woods.

Picnicking, nature trails, BMX biking, covered shelters are available for your enjoyment. Chosen by Nick Jr. Magazine as one of "America's Choicest Campgrounds" RV, tent and primitive campers can sleep alongside native wildlife, spend the day at the largest community built Play-Park in the Southeast or stroll through the Zoo.

The Creekside Education Center houses the education staff, summer camp, Night-crawlers and other educational programs. Immersed within a spectacular Southwest Georgia landscape the facility can be rented for weddings, conferences, receptions, etc. Nestled at the borders of Dougherty and Lee County, the Parks at Chehaw is a place where kids, creatures and communities collide in wholesome harmony. Chehaw's amazing educational programs also reach out to over 22,000 kids from over 35 counties in Southwest Georgia and Northern Florida. As the leader in tourism in Southwest Georgia, The Parks at Chehaw has averaged more than 180,000 visitors each year for more than 15 years. Highlights of the park's annual calendar include: Festival of Lights, Boo at the Zoo, Frontier Festival, and Native American Cultural Festival scheduled for each November will set a new standard for excellence while supporting our community with over 20,000 visitors to the region. January 12, 13, 14 2007 Frontier Festival- Spend the day living America's history! Frontier garbed participants and traders will be demonstrating the skills and tools of yesteryear. These people are very knowledgeable in our country's frontier history and are ready and willing to share it in a most interesting and fun way. Period Traders will have items both children and adults can purchase. Come and enjoy the fun while exploring America's history from the 1700's to 1840! School days are scheduled for both of these events on the Friday dates.
