Focus: 18th century living history in a reconstructed civilian refuge fort. Interpreters portray daily life on the frontier of (West) Virginia in the 1770s and demonstrate crafts. Restored and furnished original 1860s homestead also on site.

Major Exhibits: Orientation gallery in newly opened Visitor Center with video, reconstructed 1770s fort, fully furnished with costumed interpreters, restored and furnished original 1860s homestead.
Exhibits of 06: all exhibits are permanent
Class Trip Programs: Students receive an overview of fort history and demonstrations of blacksmithing, weaving, militia, Hearth cooking, gardening, pottery, daily life and more. Special workshops can be arranged with hands on crafts introduction as outreach or on site in conjuntion with a field trip
