Curriculum: All language instruction is taught in the Rassias Method® developed by Dartmouth professor John Rassias. Dynamic, theatrical, fun and effective - "Speak the language to learn it not learn the language to speak it!" All staff is trained in the method.

"I decided to do this program to improve my Spanish speaking skills. Learning Spanish was not only during the formal classes of the weekdays but throughout the whole trip. One example I can recall is arguing with my Spanish host-mother. I remember staying out too late and her stressing at my return 20 minutes past my curfew. I remember trying my best to explain and argue to be let out again the next night, ALL IN SPANISH! It was hard, but I had to go through this process more than once, and by the end of the home-stay, I did not have to pick up the English-Spanish dictionary to make my point across. Another example was when I spoke with my host-sister. We were close, and I would gossip and chat with her as if we actually both spoke the same language! I remember trying to find 100 euros I had lost and the frantic search my host-sister and I had to go through trying to find them, before we realized I had flushed them down the toilet. It was moment like those that made me realize how much this trip easily connected me with people I never thought I would meet."

Our middle school program in Vermont is on the campus of one of the country's famous ski academies, Green Mountain Valley School. We offer 2 week programs in French, Spanish and Chinese as well as outdoor activities in the afternoons.

Our high school programs offer home stay and immersion language study plus travel and, in China, community service work as well. This will be our 21st year offering such programs.

Middle School Program
Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS) is located in the Green Mountain village of Waitsfield, VT. Sitting among the mountains, GMVS offers a range of outdoor activities - hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, etc. as well as first class facilities for your language instruction, meals, and nights.

High School Program
Our high school programs unfold in their country of destination. All programs are overseen by local residents who are friends of the Rassias family. Our small size offers us the ability to take students where the ordinary program cannot.
