History

The Round Rock Public Library was organized in 1962 by the Round Rock Ladies Home Demonstration Club.  This group bought the old Ford Motor Company dealer's building on the corner of East Main Street at Sheppard Street where the present library stands.  Work on the showroom was done by a building and trade class from Round Rock High School and local craftsmen.  The current facility is 43,000 square feet and is named in honor of Robert G. and Helen Griffith, long time library supporters and community leaders.
