Focus: At the South Carolina Aquarium education is an integral part of our mission and we want all students to experience the beauty, mystery and science of our Aquarium. We provide free grade-appropriate on-line activities based on the South Carolina Department of Education standards.

Major Exhibits
Great Ocean Exhibit
This gallery extends over two levels of the Aquarium, and the focal point is a massive, two-story Great Ocean Exhibit which holds over 300,000 gallons of water and contains hundreds of animals and plants visible in major views: Sandy Seafloor, Deep Ocean, and Rocky Reef.

Discovery Lab
Come discover the wonderful animals living just off of the coast of South Carolina. The Discovery Lab features a 1,700-gallon "Touch Tank" containing a wide variety of marine creatures from South Carolina's coast. Aquarium volunteers and staff will be on hand to tell you about these animals and help you to better understand the life in the Atlantic Ocean.

2007 Exhibits
Secrets of the Amazon
You can become an explorer in the jungles and rivers of the Amazon in our new changing exhibit, Secrets of the Amazon. An amazing experience awaits as you trek through a researcher's hut to experience the sights and sounds of adventure. Exhibits featuring the diversity of the Amazon are found throughout the exhibit where animals such as a green anaconda, goliath bird-eating spider, piranha, electric eels, poison dart frogs and a green aracari await.

Tuck in with the Turtles
The enchanting glow of water, the quiet of nature and the beauty of our animals will accompany you to dreamland at the South Carolina Aquarium's "Tuck in with the Turtles".  It's a slumber party like no other with fun, educational programs, evening snacks and continental breakfast, plus the best view of the Charleston Harbor.
