Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale

Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) is a general test of adult intelligence (i.e., an IQ test), first published in February 1955 by David Wechsler; the fourth and most recent edition of the test (WAIS-IV) was released in 2008 by Pearson. Wechsler defined intelligence as "The global capacity of a person to act purposefully, to think rationally, and to deal effectively with his/her environment."
