Activities

Dance, Acting, and Voice workshops. Rehearsals with professional theatre directors culminating in real performances on Stoneham Theatre's main stage. This summer's shows include Annie Jr. (musical), Guys and Dolls (musical), Wonderful Town (musical), Company (musical), 42nd Street (musical), and The Philadelphia Story (play).

Who:
The young co. summer program is divided into three acts & the Overture program:
Overture for students entering grades 1 - 3
Act 1 for students entering grades 4 - 6
Act 2 for students entering grades 7 - 9
Act 3 for students entering grades 10 - 12 & '08 high school graduates

What:
After auditions, students spend their mornings in rehearsal for their productions with a staff of professional theatre artists. In the afternoons, students have workshops in different performing disciplines. During the final week, students experience the technical process of a professional show, adding lights, sound and costumes for three public performances on Stoneham Theatre's stage.

Where:
The first four weeks of the program are held offsite. In the final week, we transition to Stoneham Theatre stage for technical rehearsals and performances.

How:
Each act is limited in size; spaces fill on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students enroll by delivering the registration form and a non-refundable $300 deposit to our Box Office or over the phone: (781) 279-2200. Upon enrollment, students receive an packet including the script, score, forms and workshop options. The remaining balance is due by June 1, 2008.
