Relationships with your peers, interactions in the family household and the emotional strength to handle stressful situations define childhood and our young adolescent years. For students battling emotional, physical or psychological turmoil a strong foundation of support should be created in their lives to help them to overcome and better themselves for the future.

Crisis Centers Directory: A center staffed especially by volunteers who give support and advice to people experiencing personal crises (Coming 2010)
Eating Disorder Centers: An alarming rate of high school students develop eating disorders. Feelings of work, school, relationships, day to day activities and relationships affect the emotional well being from mild mental anguish to life threatening conditions. There are many centers in the U.S. that can help your child. (Coming 2010).
Juvenile Boot Camp Directory: For troubled teens with behavioral and emotional problems there are state and privately run camps which provide a "quick reality check" in hopes of turning around a child that has been acting out of line. Juvenile boot camps are correctional programs for troubled youth in a military-style environment. These programs emphasize discipline and physical conditioning and were developed as an alternative to longer terms of confinement in juvenile correctional facilities. (Coming 2010)
National Psychologist Directory: A psychologist is someone who studies the human mind and behavior.
Therapeutic Schools & Programs: Students may need special attention that they cannot receive in the classroom. Perhaps there are problems outside the classroom that are affecting their work. Eating Disorders: Condition which affects an individuals eating habits, either as a result of their own doing (self-inflicted), or as a bodily reaction to the consumption of food. Eating disorders can range from mild mental anguish to life-threatening conditions, and can affect every aspect of an individuals daily life. Including: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Rumination Syndrome, Orthorexia Nervosa, Selective Eating Disorder, Compulsive Overeating. (Coming 11/09).
Hazing: Hazing is an often ritualistic test, which may constitute harassment, abuse or humiliation with requirements to perform meaningless tasks; sometimes as a way of initiation into a social group.
Social Anxiety: Social anxiety is an experience of fear, apprehension or worry regarding social situations and being evaluated by others.
Serious Emotional DIsturbance: Those who have had a diagnosable mental, behavioral, or emotional disorder interfering with one or more major life activities, such as the abilities to eat, bathe, and dress oneself, or the abilities to function effectively in social, familial, and educational contexts.
Sexual Harassment: Sexual harassment in education is unwelcome behavior of a sexual nature that interferes with a student’s ability to learn, study, work or participate in school activities.
School Violence: Violence in the education system is a growing problem that must be dealt with accordingly.
