Mission Statement

SHCA is an outreach ministry of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church. The Academy, hand in hand with parents, lays a foundation for a life long relationship with God. The Academy provides a nurturing foundation for children to experience God through a Christ centered and Bible based educational environment upheld through academic excellence. "But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere." James 3:17 SHCA is a ministry that provides children and their parents an opportunity to know Christ and make Christ known throughout their lives.

Therefore, we strive to be an integral part of transforming nonbelievers into believers, and believers into disciples. "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit..." Matthew 28:19-20 SHCA is Christ centered. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No
one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
SHCA excels at assisting parents in educating children so that the child can reach full potential spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. "One generation shall praise thy works to another and shall declare thy mighty acts." Psalm 145:4 SHCA provides a nurturing and educational Christian environment, supported by academic excellence. Jesus said, "Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to them belong the kindgom of heaven."
Matthew 19:14

Mission Statement

Students will understand the importance of making good choices for God and will be taught how to make these choices through a Bible based educational enviroment upheld through academic excellence. "Teach me knowledge and good judgment for I believe in your commandments." Psalm 119:66

Students will pray and recognize the value of prayer. "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16; "humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up." James 4:10 SHCA students shine like God's love. His light holds the word of life that shines through us (Philippians 2:15). "...let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16; "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15.
