Notes

'1 in Every 5' - One in every five children and adolescents who appear healthy on the outside, suffer mental health problems on the inside. Unfortunately, many get inappropriate services or no treatment at all.

With early detection and appropriate treatment chances are excellent that children with mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders can lead productive lives.

Left untreated these disorders can limit a child's success in obtaining an education, holding a job, living independently, and forming happy and healthy relationships.

Notes (Contd.)

Recognizing problems for what they are is the first step to ensuring young people get the help they need. Challenging behavior may be a warning sign of mental health needs.

Seeking help for your child can mean all the difference in your child's overall health and well-being.

There are no easy answers and that is why Wisconsin Family Ties is here to help - without judgment because we have been there too.
