Testing Windows
State summative assessment windows typically fall spring semester (Mar–May); check your state DOE calendar for exact dates.
Conference Season
Most national subject-area conferences (NCTM, NCTE, NSTA) run late fall through spring — register early for lowest rates.
Grant Deadlines
Many classroom grant cycles (DonorsChoose, NEA Foundation) open in fall and close early spring — see Section 13.

AI Policies & Responsible Use
Most districts now publish (or are drafting) an AI-use policy covering student data privacy, academic-integrity expectations, and teacher disclosure norms. Good starting principles: (1) treat AI output as a draft requiring human review, never a final answer; (2) never input student PII into a public/free AI tool without district approval; (3) teach students to disclose AI use rather than banning it outright; (4) prioritize tools built for education (with data agreements) over general consumer tools for anything involving student work.
