In April 2019, co-founder Anna Reger got a text that her daughter's school was under an active-threat alert. Two questions changed everything: how do we protect our kids, and why isn't there an easier way? With her husband John, she spoke to law enforcement, teachers, and administrators nationwide — and found no universal, easy-to-use secondary classroom lock existed. So they built one.

In April 2019, Anna Reger received the text every parent dreads — her daughter's school was under an active-shooter alert. In that moment, two questions took hold: how do we protect our kids, and why isn't there an easier way to do it?
Anna and her husband John spoke with law enforcement, teachers, and school administrators across the country. They found the same gap everywhere: there was no universal, simple, reliable secondary door lock that anyone — a teacher, a student, a parent — could operate instantly under stress. So they set out to build one.
