Academic Program Curriculum
Students in grades 9-12 may choose from
over 90 different courses. The academic
courses are offered at the traditional
college preparatory pace, with over 60% of
them being offered at the honors and AP
level.

Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are
available in English, Mathematics, Science,
History, and World Languages. Students
are welcome to take the AP exam in
all areas without completion of the AP
classwork.

College Courses
Our affiliation with Madonna University
allows students to take actual college
courses on our campus. The typical St.
Mary’s senior will graduate with twelve
college credits. This allows students to
receive a St. Mary’s Preparatory diploma,
and a Madonna University transcript. These
college courses typically transfer as general
education credits to the university of his
choosing. College courses are offered in
English, Mathematics, and Science.

DRESS CODE
Student dress must always reflect a sense of respect for the student, his peers, and the school environment. Precise care and neatness with regard to dress and appearance is expected of all students at school and at all school endorsed activities. Shirt and pants are required to be clean and pressed. The following dress code has been established to provide specific guidelines, limits and expectations. The dress code consists of two parts: Daily Dress and Special Dress.
Daily Dress
BELT A dark leather belt is required. Belts are to be dress-type without additional ornaments or large buckles. Canvas style belts are not permitted.
PANTS Dress Pants or Dockers™-style dress pants ONLY. Colors must remain conservative and business-like (blue, gray, tan, black etc.). Cargo pants, corduroy pants, painter pants, army fatigues, pants with side pockets, jeans, pants with rivets, etc. are not permitted. Chains for wallets, watches, keys, etc. are not permitted. No frayed cuffs on pant legs are permitted. Pants should be clean, neat and pressed.
SHIRT White dress shirts only, which may be long or short sleeves. Seniors may also wear royal blue dress shirts. If a t-shirt is worn underneath, it must be solid white (no logo imprint). Sleeves may not be rolled up, regardless of weather conditions.
SHOES Footwear must be neat and clean, and a dress style shoe must be worn. Dress shoes are shoes that are leather and cut below the ankle and have a full front, back, and sides. Shoes must have a dark sole.
Non-Acceptable Footwear
Athletic shoes, shoes that resemble athletic shoes, or shoes that are higher than ankle height, sandals, moccasins, clogs, slippers, boat-shoes, wallabees, docksides, sprees, or any non-dress shoe is not acceptable.
SOCKS Dress socks must be worn. Socks must be dark in color (brown, black, dark gray, and dark blue). No white socks; no ankle or crew socks. Socks must be mid-calf in length.
