Description:

Creative Journaling is a content-based course focused on the teacher as writer and the teacher of writing. Using art, music and photographs explore the freedom in journal writing that enhances effective writing skills. Develop voice, choice and a love for playing with language and visual literacy in the writing process. Experience the therapeutic value of journaling, as well as encourage the writer within to flourish using the non-judgmental writing format. Create an authentic, meaningful journal. Use your experience and the creative journaling techniques in your classroom to motivate the reluctant writer to writing, and developing confidence in written expression. Leave this class with lots of ideas to use in your writing curriculum and feeling personally and professionally charged. Meets Common Core State Standards in Writing.
