Mission Statement:
To seek. To serve. To strive.
RCHK is a student-centred independent school. Through a rigorous and holistic curriculum, the college will develop global citizens who strive for excellence, appreciate the aesthetics and are empowered to take progressive action. RCHK strives to build a culture that promotes peace and democracy, values diversity and works towards a sustainable future for all.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Renaissance College frames internationalism through its “Bedrock Principles” to illustrate who we are as a college community and what we intend to accomplish together. RCHK is committed to creating an environment where all learners are global citizens who embrace diversity, are confident with change and possess a healthy sense of self. This internationalism is informed by our educational programme and demonstrated in the action we take and the engagement we have with others through language and technology; fostering greater intercultural understanding.
To cultivate an inclusive community that values positive relationships and enables students and staff to flourish.
To foster a love of learning through an adaptive curriculum that nurtures creativity.
To connect learning through opportunities for pursuing action, outreach, fieldwork, and authentic learning experiences in the local and international communities in order to make the curriculum relevant and service to others genuine.
To transform learning and teaching through the integration of technology.
School History:
Renaissance College Hong Kong (RCHK) was established in 2006 by the English Schools Foundation (ESF) to serve the needs of the local and expatriate communities in Hong Kong.
To provide parents with greater choices for their children’s education, the Hong Kong government introduced the Private Independent School (PIS) initiative. A total of 10 sites were allocated to education providers following a competitive tendering process. ESF was allocated two sites, one of which is located at Ma On Shan, in the heart of Hong Kong’s New Territories. The government provides private independent schools with a capital grant that covers construction costs. ESF added to this capital grant to provide additional specialist facilities.
Employment Opportunities: Teaching opportunities are posted on the ESF platform: https://www.rchk.edu.hk/working-with-us/
Notes/School Information:
Renaissance College in Hong Kong, better known as RCHK, is an all-through top-quality IB World School. We are a member of the prestigious English Schools Foundation (ESF) - the largest provider of English medium international education in Hong Kong. We deliver all four IB programmes: PYP, MYP, DP and CP. From Years 1 to 13, our students represent 40 nationalities with 20 languages.
We have a strong Chinese language programme. Students learn Chinese through either traditional or simplified characters, and we can support preferences about character learning. Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum and Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) are integral to campus life.
We foster an inclusive sense of community where students, teachers and staff learn and develop together. In addition to being challenged academically, students are also encouraged to think critically about how they can make an impact in the greater community. With the IB curriculum, they achieve personal success whilst also emerging as strong global citizens. RCHK creates joyful learning environments led by a community of exceptional teachers who bring out the best in every child by inspiring curious minds.
