Highlights:
Will Parker puts on fun, interactive concerts that spark imagination and joy! Accompanying himself on guitar and harmonica, he plays original songs for kids "ages 1-100." Throughout the show, the audience engages through singing-along, dancing, high-fiving, imaginative play and they even help Will create an improvised song through their suggestions and input on what should happen next in the story. Will also engages the kids in conversation about how every person can be creative and that writing a song is something they can do too. The kids learn that music and songwriting is a great way to tell stories--they're own stories too!
Mission Statement:
My mission is to help kids of all ages unlock their innately creative selves through the power of music and imagination.
Philosophy/Belief Statement: I believe that encouraging creativity and imagination through the performing arts is a key part of making our world a better place for all.
Program History:
Will Parker is an award-winning children's musician from Texas with over ten years of experience writing and performing songs for kids. He regularly tours the country, playing high-energy shows with lots of audience participation. He sings and accompanies himself on guitar and harmonica, and performs original songs from his albums, Animal Maniac and Imagine Land. Will is also a theatre educator and an improviser. He has a passion for building arts-based communities and helping people of all ages discover the confidence they need to unlock their innately creative selves.
Testimonials: "I was blown away by Will Parker and his awesome music program this week at our library. I have been doing children’s programming for almost 20 years and have seen numerous performers. Will Parker put on one of the best children’s programs I’ve ever seen! Loved all of his original songs. The program was very high energy and lots of child/ audience of participation! I was tired just watching him! So glad he was in our area this summer!" - Jennie D. Ontario, OH "This was our first chance to book Will, and our only regret is that the entire city wasn't able to enjoy the show. His energy is infectious, his rapport with children is excellent, and his interactive songs are ear worms of the best kind. It's obvious he loves what he does, which is a quality that can't help but rub off on the audience. If Will is in your area, don't pass up an opportunity to book him. I know we won't!" _- Eric L. Jefferson City, MO "Will Parker entertained our library patrons with an amazing show, chock full of music, silliness, and all-around good, clean fun. This musical comedy was the perfect fit for our Summer Reading Program, "Libraries Rock!" Our kids and teens both participated onstage with Will and loved every minute of it. We would welcome Will back in a heartbeat. He is an amazing entertainer. He also sat down after the show and did a few quick punk folks songs for our Teen helpers. They now think he hung the moon. I would highly recommend Will Parker for to anyone who is considering live entertainment. He most definitely is worth his weight in gold." Melodie R. Sapulpa, OK "Perfect for Library programming! We hired Will Parker as one of our summer reading performers and he was AMAZING. He had an audience of 200+ for an hour and kept them entertained and engaged from start to finish. His energy, talent, and sincerity shine and his sense of humor kept us *all* laughing, from the littlest in the audience to even the adultiest adults among us. We hope to have him back again next year and honestly, I don't think the kids would forgive us if we didn't!!" - Celena B. Wichita Falls, TX
