Field trips to the farm at Hillcrest Orchards teaches students the origin of their food. They have the opportunity to milk a real cow, take a wagon ride through the apple orchard, walk through the nature trail and enchanted forest, listen to Barney the talking bull tell them about chckens, cows and the Integrated Pest Management program in the apple orchard. An educational video explains the growing process from planting to harvest. And the highlight of everyone's tour is feeding and petting the baby farm animals in the petting farm. Each participant receives a fresh apple to take home and a sample of our fresh squeezed cider. There's a huge playground with giant slides and a large covered picnic area. Children learn best by experience. At Hillcrest all activities are very hands on. It's truly a trip they will always remember.
