The Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge covers 145 thousand acres of one of Florida's most prized national treasures, the Everglades. This beautiful refuge has been serving as a habitat for wildlife and endangered species since 1951 and includes 45 miles of biking trails, including 36 along the levee, a 5.5-mile paddling trail, 3 public boat ramps, a fishing pier, a boat staging dock, and 2 walking trails. It is a prime birding area with over 250 species of bird, like the endangered snail kite. Other wildlife include alligators, deer, turtles, snakes, and fish.

Bike Trails-Numbered bicycles for rent- 2 hr. rentals.The A.R.M. Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge is home to some of the best bike trails in South Florida. Explore approximately 12 miles of hard surface trails away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. Discover the diverse wildlife that calls the refuge home. Possible sightings includes whitetail deer, American alligators, a variety of turtles and snakes, as well as plentiful waterfowl and shorebirds.

Kayak and Canoe Rentals-Single & Tandem Kayak and 2 seat canoe rentals. This canoe trail explores part of the unique Northern Everglades ecosystems in A.R.M. Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. Along the 5.5. mile waterway, you will see four distinct marsh communities: sloughs, wet prairies, sawgrass ridges, and tree islands. The primary purpose of this refuge is to maintain an optimum habitat for wildlife species native to the Florida Everglades and provide wintering habitat for migratory birds and waterfowl.
