Additional Information
Identified as a digital Social Emotional Learning Program designed to help children ages 7-12 understand, manage and name their emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, impulse control and self-image using game like activities and stories related to children's daily lives. On Second Thought: from Iffy to Witty Thoughts (OST) provides a wonderful support mechanism for both learning and understanding in a society where anxiety is prevalent and may additionally, lead to anger and behavioral difficulties within children. The content, activities and presentation provides a knowledgeable, child-friendly platform that will truly encourage children to explore and understand the way they are thinking and why.
On Second Thought (OST) gives the mental health professional flexible and appealing materials that educate children about basic principles in emotion regulation in a user friendly manner. This is a "must have" resource for all mental health providers such as: pscychologists, social workers and counselors both in school, private practices and clinicls.
The OST Program was chosen for presentations at the following national conventions and conference:
*National Association of School Psychologists: February 27th 2019
*National Association of School Psychologists: February 21st 2019
*National Association of School Psychologists: February 20th 2019
*New York Association of School Psychologists: September 20th 2020
**Although OST was initially designed as an educational tool, small studies conducted by doctoral students, supervised by a professor at St. John's University found reductions in anxiety and anger.
