School Information:

Earn college credits while experiencing Italy. Scholarships available to reduce your cost in the Summer Program (3-6 credits) and Fall/Spring Semester (up to 18 credits). High academic standards and individualized attention. Interdisciplinary courses in various fields of study and Directed Study offered. Program highlights include excursions off the beaten path so you can immerse yourself in the Italian lifestyle. Participants earn U.S. university credits.

Curriculum Highlights:

Immerse yourself in Italian art and culture in the heart of Florence while earning college credits (upper division courses). Interdisciplinary courses which also cover history, literature, and sociology studies, are designed both to stimulate Fine/Visual Arts majors in a creative environment and to introduce students from other academic disciplines and backgrounds to the Arts. All courses are taught in English and there are no language prerequisites. Students have the option to enroll in Italian language courses. Or you can immerse yourself in Italian language and culture. Interdisciplinary courses, which also focus on history, literature, and sociology studies, enrich students’ studies with a new perspective and dimension. Students are invited to take a step out of their own culture and get a taste of the Italian lifestyle. There are no language prerequisites. Aside from intensive experiential-learning language courses (all levels), students can also enroll in Humanities/Liberal Arts courses to fulfill degree requirements. You can enrich your academic career with a unique international experience. Witness firsthand how Italian politics, business, and history have all shaped modern Italian lifestyle. Interdisciplinary courses at NECA bring together students from different academic backgrounds in stimulating learning environment.

School Setting:

NECA facilities are situated in the heart of Florence, a city located in the fertile region of Tuscany. The region is considered the birthplace of modern Italian language and was home to great historical figures such as Dante, Michelangelo, Machiavelli, and Leonardo, amongst others. Florence is centrally located for easy travel throughout the rest of Italy and Europe. As one of the most visited cities in the world, it hosts thousands of international students each year.
