Mission Statement:

Connecting youth to their community through mentors who inspire and motivate youth and families towards personal growth, healthy relationships and meaningful opportunities.

Philosophy/Belief Statement:

The objective of CPY-BBBS is for youth to feel a connection to their community. make new friends, and work on developing their sense of trust. committment, responsibility, and hope for the future. Youth often experience school success as well as stronger relationships with adults & peers.

Program History:

The non-profit agency of Committed Partners for Youth, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lane County is comprised of two best practices mentoring organizations. This merger was supported in part by a 2007-08 OJJDP Capacity Building Grant. OJJDP has designated Big Brothers Big Sisters as “exemplary”, their highest rating, in the 2007 OJJDP Model Program Guide. Since 1991, Committed Partners for Youth (CPY), a local community and school based mentoring agency, has empirically demonstrated its effectiveness in improving the well being of at-risk youth in Lane County
