Rett Syndrome

Hello…I'm Sierra's mom. Sierra is 4 years old and was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at age 2 ½. In this first post I would like to discuss Sierra's journey so far with learning to walk. Sierra has never taken a step unassisted, even before she regressed at 17 months. She did crawl very well and fast at 13 months, but slowly lost that ability and finally stopped about a year ago. We are very lucky to have a Rett Clinic within driving distance. They have been very supportive and optimistic that Sierra will walk!

My ADHD

The last time I wrote something for this Blog I was locked in at the library in Chelsea.

A nice calm peaceful room with only the windows to look at and possibly distract me.

Because I watch to see if I know anyone walking up to the door.  But they cant see me because I am up in a room, the door is closed they cant bug me =)

I am now at home, where everything distracts me and yet- I feel I must share my story with everyone else who has ADHD.

So get your coffee sit and laugh – ha ha

Family Account: ADHD/Autism

My name is Rita Fischer I have ADHD - so does my whole family.

I am thought to be extroverted and energetic (I am only when I have to be) I cherish quiet times in the woods or valleys and do not like crowds much so I am at the library locked in s study room just so I can focus =)

I love to sing (and sing every Friday night in Jackson at a program called Celebrate Recovery) I like to scrapbook-

Those of us who have ADD/HD probably have issues in our past that have seeped over into our parenting, marriage and adult lives.

My Aspergers

I wonder at times how my Aspergers Syndrome affects me, it is difficult to have anything to compare it to as I was born this way. Not being able to understand other people's thoughts, motives and behaviours is at times frustrating. I can similarly get impatient easily at the way they are unpredictable. Teamwork is not my strongpoint.
