Because the majority of learning and attention disorders are shown to be neurologically-based, an evaluation would optimally include the analysis of a child's complete neurocognitive abilities. A comprehensive evaluation is a critical component of the diagnosis of learning and attention disorders, particularly those more subtle, and clarifies the issues as they relate to school and overall neurocognitive functioning. School-based professionals can easily incorporate the recommendations into the child's educational program to help the child become more successful while remaining in the least restrictive environment. This can be done for children in regular education, special education, and those receiving ADA Section 504 services |
