Lesson Plan:
Title: Civic/Social awareness
Skill Focused: Speaking.
Time: 40 minutes
Objectives: By the end of the lesson the trainees should be able to:
Develop spoken fluency.
Use language for persuasion.
Express their views and thoughts confidently.
Interact confidently with peers.
Procedure:
Task#1: (group Activity- 5 members) time: 05minutes
T greets the class.
T forms groups.
T gives instructions.
T asks trainees to discuss the pictures in the group.
T tells the time for the activity.
T now distributes the pictures.
T facilitates and monitors.
T announces to stop the activity.
T now takes feedback.
Task#2: (group Activity- 5 members) time: 10minutes
T gives instructions for the task.
T says, ‘Select one picture in the group. Each group will give speech to persuade audience for the campaign. Prepare a very convincing speech. Make sure that maximum members are involved in the speech.’
T says, ‘You will have 3 minutes preparation time and 3 minutes deliverance time.’
T facilitates and monitors.
T now elicits answers.
T makes sure that all groups respond.
Task#3: (Whole- class Activity) time: 10minutes
T gives instructions for the task.
T says, ‘Describe your town/city/village/taluka in one sentence.’
T listens carefully.
Teacher’s Talk 2 minutes
T gives instructions for the next task.
T says, “Those who are from one town form one group and those who are one from a town work individually.”
( possibility: and if some people ask to join someone as they may give reason that our district is same, then they should be allowed. For the next task in this kinds of groups you can not form group on the basis of any other method.)
Task#4: time: 05minutes.
T gives instructions.
T says, ‘You run an ad company. The govt: of your town wants you to make an ad. In the ad you persuade people to visit your town.’
T facilitates and monitors.
T now elicits answers.
T makes sure that all groups respond.
Task#5: (group Activity- 5 members) time: 07minutes
T forms new groups.
T gives instructions.
T says, ‘ Sindh Government is clebrating this year as “ visit Sindh- tourism year.” Prepare a script to project Sindh to attract people to visit Sindh.’
T facilitates and monitors.
T announces to stop the activity.
T now takes feedback.
T makes sure maximum participation of individuals and groups at all stages.
