Focus: The Museum's focus is on the South during the Civil War. It houses the world's largest collection of artifacts (weapons, uniforms, flags, etc.), manuscripts, and photographs from the Confederate States of America. Also on the site is the White House of the Confederacy, the restored home of Jefferson Davis during the Civil War.
Ages: Education programs geared to 4th -12th graders
Major Exhibits / Exhibits of '06 :
The Confederate Years: Chronological exhibit of the battles of the Civil War, featuring the effects of Lee, Jackson, Stuart, and others.
The Confederate Navy: Exhibit covering the Confederate Navy from ironclads and torpedoes to blockade runners and commerce raiders
The Common Soldier: A display of the effects of the everyday soldier accompanied by quotes from soldier's letters.

Class Trip Programs
Guided tours of the White House of the Confederacy for all ages. (45 min.) Guided tours of the Museum for 4th-6th graders(30 min.). Older students tour with the aid of questions or audio, depending on size of group. Interactive programs utilizing our handling collection (30 min): African-Americans Before and During the Civil War (4th-5th); Life of the Homefront (4th-5th); Common Solider (5th-7th); Medical Practices (4th-12th)

Class Trip Pricing
The following prices apply to groups of 10 or more students with advance booking. Museum only: $2 Museum and Program: $3 Museum and White House (with or without program): $4
For every 10 students one adult is admited free of charge. Additional adults are charged the adult group rate.
