History:
Initiative Science was founded in 2001. In our inaugural year, the organization engaged a modest 50 participants. Today, 2,500 students, teachers and staff members from educational institutions throughout Metropolitan Detroit and Toledo, partake in our innovative programming. Additionally, I.S. provides internships for those who have science degrees and would like to contribute to advancing interdisciplinary initiatives related to their field. Our future goals include the contribution of private funding for primary scientific research and the creation of strategic community alliances to protect the scientific interests of the organization and the community.

Program Information:
Initiative Science provides a series of over 150 after school programs, covering 500+ topics. Our novel, formatting provides enough learning for participants to appreciate math and science, without conflicting with other extracurricular activities, building schedules and parental obligations.
