Program Highlights:
The purpose of the Capital District YMCA childcare programs is to provide quality care in a safe and supportive environment theat fosters the physical, emotional, and social growth of children, while supporting and strengthening families

Program Information:
High quality, safe, affordable child care is available for students in the Shenendehowa School District. These outstanding programs are held in the school cafeterias and include nutritious snacks, outdoor play, games, arts and crafts, homework time, gym time, and child choice activities. The children are placed in their appropriate age groups and activities are structured to meet their developmental needs. Our caring staff are role models for children and are trained in school age child care best practices. Children are placed in groups of 10 with one or more staff and volunteers to lead them through their afternoon of activities. Y’s Time programs are registered with the NYS Department of Social Services and licensed with the NYS Office of Child and Family Services. This program is offered at these locations: Arongen/Shatekon, Chango, Okte, Orenda/Karigon, Skano/Tesago and St. George’s Church, Kidzlodge and the YMCA.
