The application must include name and contact information, background details, academic details, and a short, original, previously unpublished written response to the scholarship topic, “You were born in 1996. Tell us what will be going on in your life in 2026.”
The written response must be in English, with correct spelling and grammar, and must not exceed 250 words. All applications become the property of the sponsor and will not be returned. The sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, or illegible entries. Limit one application per person.
All applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
Eligibility: Must have been born in 1996, a legal residents of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia and plan to enroll no later than the fall of 2016 in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education.
Purpose of Award: Advanced education in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. The scholarship prize will be in the form of a check made payable to the accredited postsecondary institution of higher education attended by the scholarship prize recipient (once the scholarship prize recipient has enrolled in an accredited postsecondary institution of higher education and submitted proof of enrollment to the sponsor). The scholarship prize recipient must submit proof of enrollment on or before Dec. 31, 2016.

All students, regardless of academic merit or financial need, are encouraged to apply.
The sponsor is looking for eligible applicants who follow directions and submit applications that are well-written and clearly and creatively address the topic. On or about Jan. 31, 2012, a qualified panel of judges will select one potential winner based on the criteria of writing ability (25 percent), creativity (25 percent), originality (25 percent), and overall excellence (25 percent). In the event of a tie, the potential winner will be the applicant with the higher score for overall excellence.
Current employees, officers, directors and agents of the sponsor and its related companies and members of their immediate families (defined as spouse, parents, siblings and children) and persons residing at the same address are not eligible to win.
