School was founded as an Agri-Science/Biotechnology High School. It started really small but it has been growing each year. It is funded by a grant from the Gates Foundation through the NC Learn & Earn Initiatives. Its target population is 1st generation college students whose either parent did not garduate from a two to four year college.
