We equip and empower children and families to reach their potential and become contributing members of a strong community.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
The Family Life Child Care program allows the child to explore the environment and select materials that stimulate interest and promote growth. The teacher structures the environment by setting up learning centers, developmentally suitable and stimulating, to increase the child’s interest and arouse his/her curiosity and desire to learn. By participating in classroom orientation, conferences, and observing the classroom teacher, the parent/caregiver can strengthen the bond between home and school and offer consistent learning experiences to the child.
Enrollment Characteristics: For more information and to schedule a tour, please contact the Enrollment Specialist at 440.260.6001.
School History:
The program has been providing high quality early childhood programming since 1983. The program operates on the philosophy that learning takes place when children are in surroundings where they feel safe and secure. In our program, parents have the security of knowing their children are safely taken care of in their absence. In the classroom, the teachers provide opportunities for learning in an atmosphere of trust and love. The centers allow for children (with proper supervision) to participate in activities both inside and outside their home classroom. Each center provides a large, outdoor play area for large muscle play and activities. Additional services are available to address a variety of family issues including counseling, parenting skill training, and a host of residential and community-based mental health services. Family Life Child Care Centers is a program of Berea Children's Home and Family Services.
