Mission Statement:
The Pomeroy-Palmer Community School District, in partnership with the community, is dedicated to providing students a safe environment with high educational standards in which students will have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be productive, responsible citizens of a global society.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
The Pomeroy-Palmer Community School District believes in the ideal of "education for all American youth." It is the function of the educational process to provide each student with opportunities for obtaining the knowledge, experience, and skills which careful individual study indicates will best prepare each student to assume a position in the competitive adult society. This preparation will permit each student to make his/her greatest individual positive contribution to society and to him/herself.
In order to assure this ideal, the Pomeroy-Palmer Community School District will establish a safe, disciplined environment, which will provide a positive place in which to learn and to develop respect for self and others.
Academics subject knowledge, although of primary importance, is not sufficient by itself for the development of the whole person. The Pomeroy-Palmer Community School District is concerned with each pupil's emotional, physical, social, and vocational development in addition to his/her intellectual achievement.
It is a goal of the Pomeroy-Palmer Community School District to prepare all students to accept learning as a life-long endeavor, assuring the development of students who are capable of adapting to an ever-changing society and of establishing long and short range goals through a spirit of cooperation, using broad-based input.
These goals provide for the direction of the district, allowing all opportunities for success.
