Ronald Brown Academy

Ronald Brown Academy Offers its students a challenging and rewarding learning experience designed to prepare them for high school and college. The school is dedicated to creating a well-rounded educational environment through monthly service learning projects, Go Green events, and numerous enrichment programs.

Counselor, Social Workers, Psychologist, Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Title I Instructors, Literacy & Math Instructional Specialists, and Special Education classes for Learning Disabled, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Cognitively Impaired students.

Our campus has Wi-Fi access, Smart boards, two computer labs, one media center lab, student netbooks, and classroom computers for independent study.

The mission of Ronald Brown Academy, a premier child-focused learning center, is to ensure that all children are nurtured, have a strong academic background, develop a passion for learning, and become productive citizens through an integrated curriculum with enrichment activities and fine and performing arts in a technology-rich, data-driven environment with the assistance of parents, community, and business partnerships.

The school participates in the Fruit Tree 101 School Orchard program, Greenhouse Gardening program, National Elementary Honor Society, WSU Fellows Tutoring, Manhood program, Academic Games, Girl Scouts, Grief Counseling, Drum Majors for Peace program, After school tutoring, Advanced classes, Cooking Matters program, Recycling program, Athletic Academy, Service Learning Projects, Think Pink Day Cancer Awareness fundraisers, Community GED Courses and Title I Parent Involvement Organization.

Ronald Brown Academy is a Skillman Foundation Grant recipient, a recipient of the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation’s Fruit 101 Orchard, and a Michigan Green School. We have partnerships with Cranbrook Institute of Science, Saint John Providence Hospital, Macy’s Make a Wish Foundation, WSU Fellows tutoring, Gleaners Food Bank, Belle Isle Nature Zoo, Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Education, A World in Motion, Michigan Forest Foundation, Urban Forestry, Leukemia & Lymphoma Pennies for Patients, Impact Church, Rouge Education Project, Donors Choose Organization, and the NASA Explorer program.

Ronald Brown Academy is dedicated to guiding students towards a college bound path.  The staff members and counseling department are committed to providing the support, resources, activities and opportunities to help all students maximize their potential and visualize their long term goals and successes post high school.

The school is located on the east side of Detroit on E. Outer Drive between Chalmers and Whittier.
