Additional Information:
Daktari is situated on a private game reserve in South Africa. The nearest town is Hoedspruit and we are one hour and a half away from Kruger National Park.
Program: Would you like to get a hands-on experience with education of underprivileged children whilst taking care of injured and orphaned wild animals ? Perhaps giving both of them a brighter future ? At Daktari, this is exactly what you can do ! The mission of Daktari is to inspire, motivate, develop and educate underprivileged children to care for the environment through the medium of a wildlife orphanage. We use orphaned wild animals that can't be rehabilitated as an education medium for our local underprivileged children. Volunteers supplement the school curriculum by giving a hands-on education in existing school subject. At the same time children and volunteers share a unique environmental experience. As a volunteer your main tasks will be teaching the children, looking after the animals and helping with general maintenance. You don't need any previous experience, just enthusiasm to help this worthy project achieve its goals.
Have a look at our website or contact Ian and Michele for more information about your stay with us.
