Mission Statement:

The mission of The Catalyst Foundation is to Create a Healing Society

Under this umbrella, we are dedicated to decreasing the impact of unhealed emotional pain and trauma (from childhood abuse, neglect, and other difficult life situations) on society and the world through direct service, public education, advocacy, policy reform, and empowerment of directly affected and disenfranchised groups. We are also dedicated to improving the health and well-being of low-income, medically indigent, and homeless persons through high-quality, compassionate medical care, health education, and supportive social services.

Philosophy/Belief Statement:

The Catalyst Foundation works each day to serve and embrace the marginalized, disenfranchised and often invisible in our society.

Program History:

We were founded in 1993 to serve people with AIDS. Over the years, our scope and services have expanded beyond our founding focus of serving people with AIDS to include providing compassionate primary medical care and supportive services to the poor and to those living with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C through our Bartz-Altadonna Memorial Clinic in Lancaster, California. From our clinic, located in the rural high desert of Los Angeles County, we also operate a food pantry and provide case management. But that’s not all. We offer an array of transformative programming including art, meditation and yoga and conduct vigorous outreach and prevention services for incarcerated and at-risk youth and for the community in general.

Events:

Community Support Night February 16, 2010
LA Kings Night April 08, 2010

Take to the streets! Distribute flyers in your neighborhood to promote February 14th Community Support Night at CLAIM JUMPER Restaurant in Palmdale at Palmdale Mall. This is an opportunity for food lovers and friends of the Catalyst Foundation to enjoy a meal that benefits the important work we do. This simple, fun way to support our charity is scheduled on a perfect party day - FAT TUESDAY - Mardi Gras celebration of all the goodies you'll give up for lent.

If you've ever been to a Claim Jumper restaurant, you know there is no better place for chocolate cake, widow-maker burgers, all the things you love but will give up for 40 days. Make this a celebration that tastes good and makes a difference, help us spread the word! Our Catalyst Foundation Community Support event at Claim Jumper is February 16 2010 10 am - 10pm Anyone who brings in a CATALYST FOUNDATION COMMUNITY SUPPORT NIGHT FLYER will generate a 15% donation to the organization!

Take in the bright lights and excitement of the Staples Center and Nokia Theater! Distribute flyers to Hockey fans leaving games at the Staples Center to promote our April 8th fundraising Hockey Night. Tickets are going fast for this Playoff Season game and we need your help to ensure we sell at least 100 tickets to benefit The Catalyst Foundation as we team up with Los Angeles Kings for a special HOCKEY NIGHT to benefit our community-based clinic, social services and basic needs care in the Antelope Valley.

All tickets sold using the dedicated URL on the flyer generate a donation for The Catalyst Foundation and qualify us for a special extra donation if we sell over 100 tickets. It can happen. You can help!

For students under 18 and those in Lancaster, CA -you can still help by distributing flyers and encouraging ticket sales among your families, friends and school communities. Hockey is a dyanmic sport and this will be an exciting game. Help us make it happen!
