Program History:

The Columbia, SC Chapter of Concerned Black Men Inc. was founded in the year 2001. When five Afrikan American men organized to change the conditions of its Afrikan American youth, particularly Afrikan American males. It is the dedication of these men along with positive influence, and role modeled behavior that will show a better outlook for its youth.
The Columbia, SC Chapter of CBM has organized a variety of talented members. What started as five, has now doubled and is still growing. It is the hopes of these Afrikan American Men that programs developed for our youth will minimize the gap with other cultures in the fields of Education, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Business Owners, etc… Our chapter is here to serve children and their families.

Additional Information:

Brothers Can We Talk?” (BCWT)
(BCWT) is a forum for male teens and men to have dialogue about issues concerning communities and the influences facing the direction of youths today. Young men can also identify ways men can have positive influence on issues that are relative to lives of our youths, their families and their communities.

Many youth in America are making differences in their schools,         communities, families, youth groups and other areas. BCWT reminds young men they can be a leader among young African American males to set the standard for others to follow.

The focus for each forum will be decided by the organization and a     student committee. Each meeting will be comprised of two components, the discussion groups and wrap-up session. Community partners will facilitate the group discussions and a forum facilitator will conduct the wrap-up session. We invite parents to attend and participate in this very important event
