Mission Statement:

The mission of the Cupertino Historical Society and Museum is to preserve and illuminate Cupertino's past to inspire our youth, strengthen the sense of community, and shape a better future by making Cupertino history relevant and available to all.

Program History:

On May 2, 1966, the Cupertino Historical Society was founded as a non-profit organization by Louis Stocklmeir, the city’s historian, and a group of longtime residents concerned about the rapid growth in the area and its impact on Cupertino’s vanishing heritage. The long-term goal of the Society was to develop a museum to preserve the memorabilia that would be so vital in communicating the history to future generations.
Opened in 1990, the Cupertino Historical Museum, housed in the Quinlan Community Center, is a growing repository of artifacts, documents, photographs, and oral histories of city residents, industries and businesses past and present. Through its revolving exhibits, the Museum attempts to develop and expand the learning opportunities that it offers to the culturally diverse community of the City of Cupertino and its surrounding areas. Special events include Quarterly Membership Meetings and the Annual Fundraising Event at the Pichetti Winery.

Events:

Quarterly Speaker Program
Annual Summer Fundraiser
