Mission Statement:
/teaching English so that they can be assimilated into the American Society and also knowing English made them to participate in physical, mental, and spiritual strength in English. Eventually they become very useful and productive individual in the U.S.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
These monolingual individuals to become more accustom to the U.S. culture instead of they live in their own world.
Program History:
At least 15 years. Originally it started as Citizenship class and still it is so that they can pass Citizenship test in English.
Events:
We celebrate the Korean Holidays and the U.S. Holidays. Korean Holidays: Lunar New Year, Lunar January 15th,March 1st Uprising against Japaniese Occupation of Korea, May 5th Mother's Day, June 5th Father's Day, Juen 25, Memorial Service for the Korean War, August 15, Independence Celebration, Lunar August 15 for Thanksgiving and Ancestoral Worship,
The U.S. Holidays are observed.
Additional Information:
We have choir group which is consisted of all seniors, drummrs, and dancers. All of them are over 75 years old and we do perform at Lunar New Year at the County festibals. All of them wear the beautiful and colorful dresses and sing Korean songs. Drummers beat the tunes and the dancers dance. It is very colorful events. We also celebrate the Korean Town Festibal in May of each year.
