Population Served: Boys and Girls ages 12 to 17, who reside in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, and are at-risk of, or are currently, facing serious challenges.
Ages for Volunteer: For youth seeking a mentor: 12-17. For youth seeking to serve as a peer mentor: 16-20. For adult mentors: 21 and up.
Hours of Service: Hours vary.
Minimum Hours Required: Mentees and mentors must meet at least one hour per week (four hours per month) for a minimum of one year.
Days of Service: Mentoring services are available all days of the week.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the GoodGuides youth mentoring program is to empower youth to make positive choices that enable them to maximize their current and future potential.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
All young people have the potential to succeed in life and contribute to society. The Goodwill GoodGuides™ program helps teens facing at-risk situations by pairing them with trusted mentors who will guide them away from trouble and toward promising careers.
Program History:
Goodwill is one of the top five leading non-profit organizations. GoodGuides is a national youth mentoring program that reaches 56 different local Goodwill's across 38 states.
Events:
We provide 2 hours of career awareness activities for youth each month and host montly events for all parents, youth and mentors to participate in.
